Lego dice game

I can't remember where I saw this but I knew my 4 year old would love it.

This was an early morning activity hence pjs. I got the dish with several compartments (although not 6) and an egg cup for additional section. Then I wrote the numbers 1-6 on them and filled with Lego .

Next we rolled the dice and chose a piece from that number compartment  to add to our creation.

This was mine and Zac's (2year old needed lots of supervision) creation

 

Then Dylan's plane

He named it Yargo Jargo ???

I recorded him explaining it, very funny. He was very serious ! 

Baby sensory: m is for mega blocks

Look at the concentration. I finally let my son loose on the mega bloks. They are perfect for sensory play. There are different shapes and sizes plus different colours .

What to do with them?

1. Build- show them how to build

2. Chew on them :)

3. Bang them together: maybe to music or whilst singing .

4. Balance, then knock them over

5.play catch

6. Paint with them

7. Paint on them

8. Full them with jelly

9. Sort them by shape/size/colour

10. Make shapes/objects

We didn't do any my craft this time but will have ago soon. 

Cardboard shape construction

I had a bit of cardboard left over and remember a fellow blogger cutting out shapes and making a slit in them so they can be. Used for construction model.

They didn't take long to do. I made various shapes. I think a triangle was the best.

It was a little tricky at first . 

He got his tools to pretend to cut them like bob the builder.

I encouraged him to colour them in with crayons but I think paint would be better. Probably paint them in advance or as a 3D model.

Definitely will try again. Next time I will also cut a bigger slit to make it easier.

Salt dough boulder construction site

I made my first batch of salt dough using flour, salt, water, oil and food colouring.

I then made different sized boulders. I encouraged Dylan to help but he likes making sausages and hasn't mastered balls.

He then loaded the boulders into the trucks.

He ordered them by size.

He counted them .

Then of course destroyed them and decided to 'hide' the trucks.

So much fun and learning and best of all easy to do. Of course playdoh is an even easier option.the salt dough kept in my fridge for a few weeks. I wrapped it in cling film to stop it drying out.
