Easter Carrot Scoop

Lots of carrots + Easter + digger fan = Easter Carrot Scoop!

Simple really scoop up the carrots. Zac is only 20 months so counting and stating colour is all we really did. If my other son who is four was playing too we may have  sorted them into size order or made letters / numbers out of them.

Zac enjoyed role play with the diggers.

He also loved the Big World Easter Egg Dig .

We tried throwing and rolling the carrots down the slide but I never took and snap shots of this .

Big World Easter Dig

After the small world sensory play activity a few days ago we found some large fillable eggs to go with the ride on digger to make the Big World Play activity.

After the egg hunt in the garden Zac used the empty eggs to throw and collect . He then decided to get on his digger and try pick up the eggs .  He then included the mud. He would place the mud and eggs in the scooper and then sit on the digger to release them.

Potato dig

This post is psrt of the potato themed activities that wid did this weekend as I went to throw old potatoes out and thought we could use them to play and learn.

So the potato dig involved potatoes, mud and a sit in digger. He role played a construction worker moving boulders or in this case potatoes. He had to move the boulders off the mud and drop them over the wall onto the patio. I encouraged him to count the potatoes on the two places and in total.

Extension tasks
Write it label potatoes  and get them to place in piles. Maybe to desperate letters and numbers.
He could use the digger to arrange them into sizes.

This activity required physical strength and was quite tricky to actually pick them up but he had great fun .  Probably should have got his Bob the Builder hat .
